Portomarin

Woke up from the Monastery meat locker and found a full English breakfast at a corner bar. Great fuel for a long days walk.

We put on our rain jackets after breakfast and slogged through about 6 hours of steady rain.

We made it to Sarria which is just over 100 KM out from Santiago. This is the shortest distances needed to walk to get an official Compostella.

I took a picture with my bag at the 100km marker.

I shot my version of running with the bulls. So exhilarating!!

As we approached Portomarin, there was a unique set  of “stairs” in a rock wall setting coming into town. Then a walk across the river bridge and up to an eagle nest view of the city and river.

After a shower we found dinner. Of course I had the octopus, my new favorite meal.

Off to bed to ready for a new day.
