The walk to Logrono was a short two hour hike. This completes the first full week of the pilgrimage. I have nearly completed 100 miles and decide to relax Saturday and Sunday in Logrono.
After parting ways with Ed and Angelika. I showered and attended noon mass at the Cathedral. Following, I had some wine and a popular snack of potatoes with mayo and hot sauce.
The quaff couple in the photo at the table in front of me had their meal paid for by me anonymously. This was my way of paying forward the good deed offered by Victor in Pamplona.
I met up with Volker was again for a beer and a burger in the main square. It’s funny how people come and go on the road to Santiago.
Blessed with sunny skies and 60 degree temperatures, I walked the inner city catching the weekend hum as locals filled the many small restraints and filled the narrow streets with a hum of conversation enjoyed over pinchos an beverages.
There is a sharp contrast to this happy hour hum and the quiet sanctity of the siesta hours when the streets are all but abandoned.
The end of the clip (see hyperlink above) catches a little magic sent from above. The acoustics in the plaza are phenomenal. Enjoy!
