Camino Day 34 – Samos

Samos

Started the day around 7 am and walked the first 45 minutes in the dark. The light broke as we exited a narrow forrest trail and found a paved road.

Greeting us was a statue of a pilgrim who looked to be fighting the wind. It just so happened that it was both windy and misty so the statue seemed appropriate.

The walk was good. So many great views of rolling green hills. Stopped at a small bar with a warm fire for toast and coffee.

It was a long walk that concluded by coming into a city in a valley with a large monastery. We chose to stay the night there with no heat. A hot shower was had and a hot lentil soup eaten next door.

Managed to get a mass in as well prior to turning in for the evening.
