The day started at 7:15 am as 3 of us headed out early to take the high mountain pass over the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles.
All in all a very pleasant day hike. It took about 8 hours to reach 1400 feet before a quick and steep decent into Roncesvalles.

While informed at the Pilgrim office that the road we were to take was closed and not yet open for the season, we decided to go nonetheless.
